Nintendo Wii - Family Time

The Nintendo Wii is the most amazing video game console on the market. You are getting exercise while at the same time, trying to beat your kids at a game of tennis! Who would have ever thought that a video game would ever get the kids off the couch. This console is the best addition to the Nintendo Empire by far. I was afraid of not having a good relationship with my children, then my friend had mentioned to me how she bought a Nintendo Wii and how it saved her family. I thought she was nuts!! Nowadays, we as parents are so upset with how video games and computers are taking over our kids lives, then she goes ahead and suggest that I buy one!!

Well, one day, I just couldn't handle how distant my family was and we were all in the same house!! I finally gave in and went out to go buy the console. Well, to my surprise, they were all SOLD OUT. I had to wait another 5 months to get ourselves one!! They were sold out EVERYWHERE. But, it was well worth the wait. I do have to mention, my friend also advised me to make sure I pick up extra controllers and Nunchuks, as all of us will want to play at once. Boy, was she right.

Within ten minutes of me having the machine plugged in and playing a game of bowling, the kids were running downstairs to see what I was doing. It may have had something to do with how loud I had the television turned up!!

Well, first my daughter asked if she could have a try. While she was playing, my son noticed that there were extra controllers on the table and asked if he could open 2 more so that all of us could play. And, so it began. For the next two hours we were playing all the games included on the Wii Sports (came with the console).

We now play the Nintendo Wii together at least 2 times a week and have added over 20 games to our collection. In the time we have had the Nintendo Wii, I have found out so much about what goes on in my childrens lives everyday!! Everytime I mention it is Family Game Night, there is no sighs, only little arguments over which game we will play first. Plus, I will never tell them that they are EXERCISING!!

 

Make sure you pick up the Wii Fit + for the Nintendo Wii as well, makes the world of exercising so much fun!!

We bought ourselves the Wii Fit Plus +. This has more games than the original version. The coolest one I have played is the juggling, yes, I said juggling. Imagine learning how to juggle. But, you don't have to worry about the balls flying everywhere!

There are many different games available to play on the balance board. You can snowboard down a mountain or walk on a tightrope. The games are all fun and challenging.

With the exercise portion of the Wii Fit, you can do yoga, aerobics, strength training and of course, the previously mentioned balance games. With the Plus+ version, there are more games included and a more personalized training workout you can create.

It really does make exercising fun!! Even the kids love it.
